Hey guys, how would one go about attaching a regular, ide pc dvd drive to a playstation 2?
I guess the key bit of information I need is the technical specification on the ps2's dvd connection and which pins correspond to which ide pins and furthermore whether or not sony's ps2 dvd drive is completely propitiatory -- do things really "line up" the same etc -- or not. I've googled around, but I've been running into a lot of modchip related websites that aren't a whole lot of use for my purpose.
I was wanting to do this because my ps2 doesn't read old ps1 discs very well -- basically the laser's dieing and since it seems it'd be a fun project.
