Playstation 2 - Delay

Delayed. I gotta read the bloomberg.. only 500,000 units will be shipped due to shortages on oct 26... so with the x million of people here.. not all of you will get it in time.....

Not delayed, just 1/2 as many are going to be available at launch. It's probably a marketing ploy. How much does anyone want to bet that after the first 500,000 or so are gone, they will "magically" produce another 250,000 or so. I seem to remember Nintendo did the same thing with the N64 lauch.

i remember nintendo saying they would have a shortage when releasing the n64 here in australia, but of course every store was abcolutely packed with system from day 1. it was more a case of shipping too many than not enough with the PS2 im gunna wait a month or so, and no doubt the price will have dropped by about AU$100, which is what happened with the N64/PSX/Saturn over here.

btw, anyone know the AUS release date for the PS2? or is it the same as the US one? (i doubt that )
