playstation 2 --> computer monitor output question

hey guys,

i have a geforce 2 GTS with VIVO. does this mean i can just plug my ps2 into my video card, connect up the audio cables onto my sound card, and play ps2 on my computer? ok, thanks.

I don't see why not. First of all, you need a program that will display the video-in. I don't know of any other than video editing programs, and I know you don't want to use those to play games, since usually you only have a small viewing area. The second thing, you need somewhere to plug in the sound. If your soundcard has the ports for the sound connectors (the red and white ones, always forget what they are called, I know my Hercules Game THeater XP does), then you can hear sound. So... I dunno. Im not talking from experience, its something I was actually going to try to do tonight, since my room mate is watching the Superbowl 😛

I went the expensive route and purchased a Samsung SyncMaster 150MP.
It cost alot but I can play PSX2 games in a window and browse the web on my computer if I want to.
IMO this is probably the most versatile piece of hardware I have ever purchased for my system.
PSX2 games also look alot better on a LCD than on a television.

i think the Video in function would be fine.
Get cyberlink powervcr II and use it to play.
The quality will not be that good since it's composite in,
but it will do what you want just fine.
