Got some PS1 CDs I need to back up. Copy, that is.

Does EZCD 4.xx or CloneCD work?

Any hints appreciated.

To answer your question, CloneCD works, but you need a mod chip in your playstation to play them. I would be careful about posting threads like this...

When I used to "backup" Playstation games I used CDRWin with error/jitter correction off. Worked great. CloneCD would work to.

Wow, thanks. Didn't know that copies wouldn't work like originals tho. Don't want/need to mod the machine, got lots of other stuff more important.

You can get patches that will allow you to burn games and it will put the boot sequence and registration into the game. But you have to find them :).

this PSX is a funny machine. i thought the chip was for playing foreign games. don't even cloneCDs work just like the originals?

Nope even with cloneCD you have to have a mod chip or one of those things that you plug into the back of the PSX.
