I strike out. :(

Worse feeling I've had in a while.

We lost in the extra inning too. This happened on Thursday and I can't get the sound of the umpire, calling strike 3, out of my head.

You must be blind. Did you get K swinging or looking? And what's the pitch count?

from thread title: full count, a.k.a. 3-2

my guess is struck out looking. probably lookin' for a ball to get walked and send the guy on third home

full count in a tight situation like that you gotta protect the plate. no doubt anything close will get called and the pitcher is not going to walk the winning run in so you figure he's gotta be somewhere around the plate. me personally, i prefer clutch situations. im down 4 balls in a game of 8-ball, im down 110 points in 501 until 0, i love to be in those spots. but thats why its always good to try and develop a short-term memory. just block that stuff out or itll eat you up and stay with you next time you play.

This was softball and I got caught looking at the softball catch the side of the plate. The pitcher wasn't really throwing in any strikes and I thought this was off the mark too.

Funny thing is this is the first time EVER that I struck out in softball. (been playing for 4 years)

shouldve started yelling at the ump and kicking dirt over the plate lou pinella-style. and when he says "im throwing you out!!" you reply: "oh no no no, you cant throw me out because im throwing you out!" last game of the season, might as well make a spectacle out of the whole situation.

dude. never take a 3-2 pitch. the umpire will expand the strike zone exponentially in the pitchers favor. Like an idiot I had a 3-0 count took the next two for strikes and struck out on an outside pitch. I more or less threw my bat at the ball. Went 4-6 with a K and 4 RBI on the day however.

On the lighter side of things. This was the first game of the fall season. We were killing this team and they insisted on playing a final inning (something happened with the cops and parking tickets and the ump had one of their bench players move his car, so he kinda was being nice to them and gave them extra inning, with regards to time it could have went either way), but we were winning 13-5 so it was more or less a pointless inning that none of my team wanted to play... next thing you know 2 outs 14-5, i was up with a man on second, we would have had to go out there for another 1/2 inning unless i got the runner home (or someone did before the next out, 10 runs after 5 innings mercy rule). First pitch i flicked my wrists hit it up the middle and we went home.

reminds me of that charlie brown play...except he was the pitcher.

three balls two strikes, the bases were loaded with two men out.
i threw my curve, but somehow he hit it a good, strong, clout.
"Lucy" I hollered,"It's coming right to you"- she caught it as easy as pie... then dropped it...
I don't think its good for a team's morale, to see their manager cry.

yep, 3-2 pitch in softball is a swing unless it's ridiculously outside/inside.
