that show was WAY to dramatic. No thanks.

Yeah, and the best part was that it was mostly true with the names changed to protect the innocent.

Anyway, I started watching about halfway in and was surprised to find I enjoyed it. Screw the NFL for canceling it. Just shows you how far Godfather Tagliabu's reach is. Oh well, in a way I'm glad it's gone. At least now I won't have to listen to some of the idiots in the NFL complain about it being an inaccurate depiction of their league

Oh, on a related note this will be ER's final season as it has meet enormous criticism from doctors and medical staff all over the country. Expect The Practice and CSI to follow suit next year

🙁 I am amazed that crap like 'everybody hates raymond' is still on the air, and a great show like playmakers is off after one season?!?

The Shield is the best show on TV besides Souf Park.

Shoot...I liked that show, even my wife was into it...

Same here. Somebody start a petition for season two!

At least we get something funny out of the cancellation, Ray Lewis' comments:

"They should have canceled it," Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis told ESPN.com. "That show don't mean nothing -- that show is nothing about us."

and the murder thread in the show clearly took inspiration from his own murder debacle...

The adult drama, ESPN's first series, featured plots that touched on drug use, marital infidelity and homophobia. The show caught criticism from NFL players.

"They should have canceled it," Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis told ESPN.com. "That show don't mean nothing -- that show is nothing about us."

"I'm glad they canceled it," Bengals offensive tackle Willie Anderson said. "It one of those false interpretations people get about the NFL and the players. If the NFL's serious about our image and the image that we portray, canceling it is a good thing."

Sounds like an accurate depiction of all pro sports. I dont know what Lewis and Anderson are smoking. The show was pretty dead on, even if the NFL doesnt like the fact.

I didn't mind watching that show...it was like "Any Given Sunday" in a daytime timeslot 😉 My sister liked it too...ah well.

You know, now that I think about it we can always hope another network picks it up. I'd dig it if HBO would pick it up and then kick it up a notch but they have Inside the NFL so the NFL might be able to blackmail them too. Maybe Showtime? Worth hoping for. It was a very popular show after all.

It was a great show. I would have bought the DVDs for the show if they had a second season. Now they can forget it.
