I recently got a dell widescreen 20" lcd model 2005fpw... I hooked up my pc via DVI-D and hooked up my xbox via composite. The video for pc looks absolutely perfect running at 16x10... however, the xbox looks very grainy. I am wondering what settings I should use to make the Xbox look the best?

Thanks!

To make the xbox look the best you will need a DVI output for the xbox. It will always look sortof grainy however, because the xbox will only output in the resolution the game is designed for. If the game is designed for regular tv's (which most of them are), then it will be outputting at 640x480, that will look grainy on a 1620x1050 (i think I got that right) screen like the 2005FPW. Some games say they are compatible with 480P enhanced defenition, that would still not be enough pixels to fill up the screen. My xbox looks especially grainy on my 1080I High-def TV, because the games I have are all for 480P.

get a vga adapter for the xbox. Will look much better than composite because you can use 480p for all your games and 720p and 1080i on ones that support it.

Get the vdigi adapter

This will work with your xbox and anything that uses component output (ps2, gc, xb360, dvd player)

Couldn't have said it better. Even with the hi-def pack its gonna have some grain. I've always used N6'sto play my consoles on my monitor. Bad choice when I switched to my 2001FP ;x

Get component cables and enable 480p in the dashboard. If you're up to date with Xbox Live hold both triggers and thumb sticks in and you can enable the dashboard in 480p. It'll look much better.

If you input your Xbox signal to your computer with a video capture card then to your monitor will the picture look better?
