Playing Wonderwall at a Battle of the Bands tomorrow at school....

And I lost my capo. Now I'm going to have to leave school at 10am and go up to the music store and pick one up, somehow without getting caught 😱

We're doing Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth too, but everyone at our school loves Wonderwall and it's pretty fun to play.

Coincidence - I was messing around with Sonar tonight and recorded a short demo of Wonderwall on electric. I'll post a clip if I can figure out where to host 🙂

A capo is a small clamp that you put behind a fret to transpose the key. I'm not sure if that's an accurate description... 😕

I uploaded my clip to this Geocities page Text but I'm not sure if it works

Introduce yourself by saying you're bigger than Jesus and then slowly fade away from the stage and hence the public eye by metaphor.

Well, it turned out alright. My mom picked up a capo this morning at the local music store and ran it by school so that was a nice surprise. Turns out it was up at the school with my stuff the whole time though 😱 For What It's Worth went really well, but as soon as I got done playing the intro to Wonderwall I dropped my pick and couldn't get in my pocket to get another one without screwing up the song (we didn't have a bass player, so the song sounded really emtpy if I missed a part). I bent down and picked it up as quick as I could and luckily it turned out alright, and not hardly anyone noticed.

Oh well, my guitar teacher used to tell me you learn something from each gig.. this time I learned to keep a few extra picks on my amp in case this happens.

CorpRec: Our next gig, on the 4th of July this summer, we're going to play a few Radiohead songs (Karma Police and either Street Spirit or Just), hopefully you have a higher opinion of those than Wonderwall 😛

(your guitars head, not your dome)

I prefer using that stickytack stuff that you use for hanging posters.
