this is kinda the reason im pretty much done console gaming, you get the people who are less than serious to the point that there purposely trying to annoy others

So hook up with some AT console gamers. Everyone I've played with has been a lot of fun, helpful and respectful. Or try to get a console gaming group together.

i have a bunch of people i game with, but because of my hours and there hours and so on. were not always on together :), last night i played with a 12 year old in halo. screaming at everyone. "get in the warthog!!" was sooo annoying. this was at like 11pm EST

LOL, that sounds eerily familiar, I may have been in that game and yeah, I was playing around that time.

Another game was way too pathetically funny. Some teen kept scolding his buddy with his voice cracking occasionally (yeah, I usually mute, but it was funny) "don't follow me!" "back me up" "you're too slow!" "what the f**k is wrong with you"........and when the game ended: "oh, we were on the red team?"

I suppose this is where PC gaming has a slight advantage.
Disable voice completely and just use text.
As a general rule, assholes are less likely to spend their time typing when they just want to vent & rant. Also, the text size is fixed and when they just use "OMG WTF BBQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" its still easier to ignore than yelling and swearing in your ear.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but the 360 has an option to automatically mute everyone but people on your friends list. It's basically the best option ever.

i guess thats good if u play without alot of friends. alot of the people on my list arent on alot. more than half of the time when i play, the people who use the mic arent so bad. example of not good.. last night i was playing with some people. this kid chased me around because i picked up the Sniper rifle. when i told him no he couldnt have it, he then ran me over with the warthog... he was at least a teenager.

This issue is thankfully much less common on the PC since usually 12 year olds aren't going to know or bother to know how to build and maintain a gaming rig.

You're totally wrong. Parents are more likely to buy their 12 year olds a computer in hopes of them learning than buy a game console so they can play games.

hd have to disagree. with a game system.. its cookie cuttered. at least with the 360. no browser support :) so for like 200-300$ they can have the latest gaming experience, be cool in there little friend circle. and mommy and daddy dont have to worry about predators looking to cut up there little jimmy

Mute him, give him negative reps, and file a complaint against him. At the very least, you will likely never be put in a match with that person again.

I was playingf CoD:MW yesterday and two young British kids were swearing up a storm. It was funny to hear a 12 year old cockney accent dropping f-bombs.

Heh. When the 360 first came out, I was playing PGR3 with some German and French guys one night and they were swearing up a storm in English. That was fun to listen to.
