Playing videos in sequence-Something happened (Solved)

unbiased

Earlier when I used to right click on a folder full of videos and select 'play with vlc media player', it would start playing videos starting with the first (based on naming or numbering). In between something happened and now it no longer does so. I suspect either vlc or winwdows update has done it.
The problem is that I no longer remember which version of vlc I used then and even if I remembered I suspect that version may not be available now.

Anybody else faced similar case? Can somebody guide me what to do to get back the ability to play videos in sequence just by clicking on the folder and selecting to play.

Thanks! But I was looking to a possible solution which can bring back tha same functionality. Instead of selecting all the videos in a playlist, just click on the folder and click play with vlc. Is it not an option now?

OK - there is a way. I just tried it on a folder of video clips. In VLC Menu, click on Open Folder. Then find your video folder. Ignore the not found message, and click on Select Folder box. It will play sequentially all the video files in the folder.

I also tried your method and right clicked the folder in Explorer, and selected Play with VLC. That worked also.

But! I do it in Win 7. There must be a Win 10 problem.

I've been using Daum PotPlayer for media myself instead of VLC for well over a decade, and it works fine with even the newest WIN10 insider update last night.

I've gotten used to it, it has many options. I have gotten used to.

Just thought I'd mention it.

😉

The Daum app would be worth a shot in Win 10. BYW, my VLC is 2.2.4.

Problem Resolved!! Thanks for the help.
Corkyg, I am also using window7 and the same version of vlc 2.2.4. That startet me thinking that it might have been something I did. It was as simple as resetting the preferences in VLC player.🙂🙂
