Playing video/audio over wifi?

Are there any options out there for say a receiver that connects to a a TV+Speakers, that I can control from my laptop without any wires connected to it?

Basically, the same way that it'd work if I connected an HDMI cable from a laptop to the receiver--but, uh without the cable?

you mean wireless hdmi from laptop to receiver?

You can't afford it.

cheaper solution is wireless keyboard and mouse.

Not if you want to stream undecoded HD codec signals over. Now if you're only sending out decoded analog signal such as multichannel analog or just stereo analog, then the answer's yes. The Audioengine AW1 allows you to stream stereo signal over without wifi as it produces its own wireless signal. So if you would like to stream a 5.1 signal over, you would need 3 AW1s.
