Playing UT while playing songs on Winamp.. abnormalaties.

Ok.. so I heard you could play music while on WinAmp while playing games, so I'm running some tracks, but the sound in UT is really weird.. it's all abnormal and has a very blurry sound to it. Hard to explain. Is there anyways to fix this? I have the Logitech Z-560's with the Audigy X-Gamer, with UT hardware and software surround sound on.
