I'm taking a guitar class in college with 20 other students. Should I get private guitar lessons?

If it was easy, everyone would be doing it and it would be no big deal![]()

Yeah...if you're just starting out, you really should get 4-6 private lessons. After that, the group lessons are OK. Keep at it, it took me about 2 years before I was good enough to play in front of crowds. Three years before they stoped calling the police and actually started listening![]()

In the last 13-14 years... do you have any idea how many people have said to me "Ooooh! I can play guitar, watch!"
Then they grab the guitar and proceed to play the opening to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters"
Stupid Metallica.
