Walmart put it on the shelf this afternoon, so i picked up a copy. There are very few people on multiplayer right now, but I played for a couple hours. I think I will have to wait for more servers to come up before I give an appraisal. I do not think you will have to have much of a system to play this game. I can play at 1600x1200 with a fx5900.

Is it a strictly multi-player game? or does it have a single-player side to it as well?

Get the pc version.

Been playing the X-box version for a couple of days and is hard to control the aim and vehicals but then again it's and FPS for the most part and just used the normal controller.

Though it does look great on the X-box so wonder how well the PC version can look.

There is also another Star Wars game coming out where you are a Storm Trooper Commando, and you run around with a squad and surpress the trade federation rebellion. Its was kinda cool. Like CS meets Rainbow Six in the SW universe.

How's the feel compared to BF? Can you hit anything with the slow moving lasers? or is that just a graphic of some sort?

is there a dedicated server on the cds? or do you need to play on "one of their" server?

I've got a question. I'm using 56K internet and want to know how the AI for single player is? Oh, and even though BF:1942 got terrible reviews for it's bot AI; I still load it up every now and then to play a battle with bots.

Hitting targets that are pretty far away with a laser requires some lead time. Some servers are listed as no CD key required. Mine is legit, I do not know how well that works.

I play BFV all the time and I can not make a comparison right now. I bought this game because I am a star wars geek.

More details please!

- How are the GFX

- What is you rig's specs?

- Does it come across as a console port (IE: dumb down interface)

- How many CDs?

- Does the player movement feel "floaty" like UT, or like you're wlaking in molasses like BFV.

Pentium 4 3.2 ghz
1 GB of Ram (2 512 running dual)
Nvidia Fx5900 128mb
3cd's

It feels like you are running in molasses to me.

Flying the vehicles takes quite a bit of getting used to. I finally mastered BFV and now this.

Graphics are pretty good.

IGN's review was not kind, calling theAI "braindead". Was it rushed out to coincide with the DVD release?

Sure seems like it based on the commercials. It certainly wouldn't be the other way around, anyway.

I'll probably avoid this one. The upcoming FPS Republic Commando looks to be the second best game using the Star Wars license so no point wasting money on this dud port.

after playing for an hour or so, i would say it is very "arcadish". i really haven't played enough to give it a decent review but the other item that is pissing me off is that i like to host multiplayer games for my friends. anybody know what ports this needs opened up?

It's primarily a multiplayer game... who cares about the AI? Dont buy a multiplayer game if you only intend to play against bots. This is almost as stupid as saying "Any news on a Gamecube version?"

I want to know about offline multiplayer on a PC. How many (hopefully 4, but I'll take 2 if I can get it), and how does performance dive, if at all?

I ask a lot, but this is important. Otherwise my friends and I will stick with Madden 2k4

Well after playing for a day it is not the greatest game I ever played. If it was not Star Wars, I might not have bought it. I would say it is average. Definitely has an arcade feel to it. Teammates TK like crazy.

Doesn't sound like everyone is loving this game too much. Hopefully there is a lot of reviews up for it by now. Sounds like I might wait until this hits the bargain bin, and then maybe buy it.
