playing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

So I'm years behind the time and just installed the game a few days ago. I have a few ???'s

is it better to non lethal KO dudes than kill them? I sneak up on everyone, and just figured out mouse 2 will choke them, but not kill them. Also when I see myself from the front I have the huge 3 glowing lights from my infra-red goggles. How the hell do the baddies not see me in the shadows? I would think 3 glowing green bulbs would make one stick out a damn lot. lol.

sorry I had a few Newcastles and my mind is thinking weird. So far I like the game, graphics still look very good. I can't wait for the next Splinter Cell. I only played the first and this one. I heard the others have buuuugs on the PC so I left them alone.

Nonlethal takedowns don't subtract anything from your overall score. It's worth grabbing the enemies and making them talk in this game, since each one has a unique conversation. And yeah, I've always wondered the same thing about the glowing goggles and the phone. 😛

The only buggy game is the fourth one. The first three are highly polished and well worth playing.

Sorry but I had to post.

Coming from Newcastle Upon Tyne, the place from where Newcastle Brown Ale is created, it makes me proud to see people around the world chugging down our fine nectar.

Yes, non-lethal takedowns (KO's) don't hurt the overall stealth score at all. I recently completed a stealth run of the game and I had to KO some guards which I couldn't avoid in certain levels and it didn't effect my stealth score at all.

If an objective in a particular mission point to eliminating someone, then killing that target does not hurt the stealth score. 🙂

Yes, I thought the same too, lol! The strange part is, it is mentioned in the wiki-link below that the 3 lights when Sam stands in front of a mirror or reflective surface become non-existent! They don't reflect back. So judging from that, they are invisible to the enemies in the game (thus they don't notice the glowing lights) but they are visible to the player so that even in the darkness the player can know where Sam is (this is of course when NV is not being used).

Here's the link for Sam's Goggles:
