Playing SC

I'm playing starcraft and I want to know if I've got a group of over 200 units and I want to select them all, how do I do this? I want to have all of my units attack one place. I tried shift and double clicking and control click but I have no idea. I see people move whole armies of men at a time and I'm wondering how.

you have to assign them to numbers by selecting a group and holding ctr while pressing the number you want to assign to that group. Then successively order each group to attack.

Edit: do what LoKe said... Except it's 1a(click)2a(click)3a(click)4a(click)5a(click)6a(click)7a(click)8a(click)9a(clic
)0a(click)

You can do it more easily with macros, but you need another program and some people consider it cheating.

And anyone who doesn't is a moron. If it wasn't a feature built into the game, then it's a hack.

QFT.

The reason I ask is 1. I've seen others do it. 2. I as I was keyboard mashing, I managed to move a group of over 1000 units in the wrong direction and I have no fscking clue how I did it. But now I want to know wtf I did..

you can't get 1000 units in sc. the maximum you could get is 200x3 if you get access to all three races.

I dunno what you were doing but you can only tell a group of 12 units to do anything at one time. The way people seem to make everyone in their army do the same thing at once is actually to (very quickly) command groups of 12 to do the same thing. This is best accomplished by assigning each group to a number and utilizing hotkeys.

You can move up to 120 units at a time using the hotkeys 0-12. That's the most you can do.

lmao.

with the new patch, so many n00b cheaters are crying now 😉

1v1 is a joke now.

I dont mind losers using maphack and that more than 12 unit select hack, in the end they all lost 🙂.

You can always assign all the stuff to follow one lead, expendable creature. When the lead creature dies, the group following it will the switch to a standby/attack mode.

Of course. I haven't found many games that compare to it in sheer enjoyability.

The "GL HF" days of SC will always be close to my heart...

I thought the "GL HF" was from Worms Armageddon.

Not in recently in my experience. It's more like "We pwn c0ck sux0rz", and then I said "Whatever happened to GL HF?". They said "That was Starcraft, this is now". (This was in Guild Wars PvP)

Every player in SC uses gl;hf.

I miss those Golemz UMS games I would always play, I knew practicly every combination by heart. Best I remember doing was winning 7 straight games of a 8 player free for all.

Also all those custom RPG games and Bunker Wars, countless all nighters spent playing those with my friends.
