Playing ROMS on PC

I downloaded the MAME thingy and its set up on my comp. But I dont know how to get the ROMS, where to put them, how to execute them and all that. I looked up a number of FAQs but they dont seem to point me to the right direction.

Anyone have any ROMS that I can install and test and play?
 
i know they're not legal, but can someone give some easy layman instructions on how to set up the MAME Rom directory so i can play some arcade games?

I put the *.zip file in the ROM directory but when i execute MAME32 (Win application), i still dont see any game being "available"

Any ideas?

Alriiiiiiiite, you can post about mp3 players and mp3s and all, but I ask about ROMS and you have constipation. Before you say there are legal mp3s out there, look at the previous posts. There are legal ROMS too. Stop crapping my thread and go suck your toe if you dont have anything intelligent to contribute.
 
Either the rom isnt made for mame, or the list just hasnt refreshed.
Look through the entire list of games for the one you have and try to play it even if it isn't marked as available and see what happens.
 
If you want to get banned so bad, why not post naked pictures so we can all enjoy them before you go....

OMG, how do you play an mp3 file in winamp?! I got it on my comp, but how do you load the mp3, or find them? THANKS!

you go to iTunes.com. they sell mp3 for $0.99. You sign up, download it and drag and drop the file into your Winamp playlist.

Download MAME32. Change the rom directory in the program to tell it where you put your legal or illegal ( most likely ) roms. Restart mame32. Choose rom from lists on left side.

EDIT: Don't forget to read the README or use the help within the programs. Documentation is the key here.
