My system is a 2-3 year old Athlon XP 1800+/A7V266E (1GB PC2100) system running an original GeForce 3. It runs RON just fine (unless I've got lots of units moving around on the screen), but it's having serious trouble with the expansion pack. So the question is, would I benefit most right now from just a videocard upgrade, or from a CPU/MB upgrade? I have a suspicion that dropping a 9800pro would probably solve the problem, but not sure I want to spend the money. What would be a good alternative that would still provide vastly improved performance over the GF3?

Thanks!

Hi,
If you have framerate turned on what does it show and do you have vsync turned off under video properties? IU run a old Ti 4200 and get framerates of over 100.

Well rise of nations is entirely 2D if you dont believe me check the system specs it doesnt even ask for "geforce2 and up" or anything simply 16mb of video ram. This means your video card isnt doing very much at all.

Upgrade your CPU
