Playing (pc)Games while (pvr) recording crashes computer/sound

Hauppauge pvr-150
X-fi Xtreme music


So basically whenever I record shows using my pvr through whichever application my computer crashes. It starts making a "thup" type sound occasionally through the speakers then out of no where a extremly loud tornado channel type effect occurs, which also reboots the computer (most of the time.) This has happend on my X-fi and onboard sound so its neither of them.

This only happens when I game and have recordings going on obviously.
