Here is the setup:
Windows 7 computer with an iTunes library
iPad (wifi syncs to the iTunes library)
Stereo receiver (modern enough, HDMI/optical/etc.; hooked up to a TV)
The objective is to be able to play songs from the iTunes library through the receiver. The current solution has been to use the iPad on a dock, but the iPad needs to become mobile. The computer is not close enough to the receiver to run a wire.
Bonus Objective: to be able to remotely control the song selection.
The B+ solution I came up with is to buy an iPod to permanently dock near the receiver. It would stay synced with the library via wifi and is cost effective enough to be worth it. However, I thought I would consult with those of you who are more passionate about this type of thing to see if I missed something better. Also, I wanted to mention Airplay to see if there were any opinions regarding that solution.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
