playing mp3s on a dvd player...

If my standalone DVD player plays the mp3 format from a common CDR, is there any reason I can't burn a DVDR full of mp3s on the root and have it play it just the same?

I just don't understand the difference... if it plays CDR MP3 and it plays that brand of DVDR... why not when MP3s are thrown on it... ya know ?

Different standards. If I were you, I'd give it a try anyways.
