Playing incomplete avi files from kazaa?

Is it possible to play an incomplete avi file downloaded from kazaa (if u only have parts of parts, because that's how they download things on there) and uh it's not adult videos i swear!
 
i know that the avi file stores the ending info at the end so that's why u usually have to complete it to watch it, but i've downloaded those things that supposedly "end' the files for u but they dont' work, which i assume is because of kazaa's download separate parts thing

I used that once (honest, it wasn't pr0n; instead, I had gotten the first bit of Happy Gilmore, because I wanted to check out the movie before hand to see if I wanted to see it or not), and it works fine.

Then WMP 8 and 6.04 both wont play it... but I can strip the index again with no error 🙂
 
From what I've read and heard from different people and websites, if the .avi files are encoded with the DivX codec it's useless to try and read them when they are incomplete because DivX stores an index file at the END of the file...therefore you would have to complete it in order to watch it
 
the purpose of the "rebuilding the index" found in divxfix was to rebuild the index at the last part of the file so it would think that the file was completed... it worked for me before but not for my kazaa downloads

Now that I think about it, my clip of Happy Gilmore was from Winmx 2.6, which doesn't download multiple parts of files at the same time. The errors you're seeing there are probably from when it encounters "blank space" between the various parts which have already been completed. AFAIK, the DivX Fix program only works when you have one consecutive section of the file. 🙁
