Technically, consoles only require to produce 30 full frames per second to make a game seem smooth, this is because a TV only refreshes half the screen per pass. I was wondering why we can't (or haven't tried to) do this for PC games. Admittingly, PC games do look way crisper than their console counterparts, but I don't see why video card manufacturers (or game developers) don't allow us to turn on this kind of option.

This makes sense when you consider how demanding a games like Doom 3 are going to be. I wouldn't mind making everything seem a little blurry if it meant I could actually play it. Not to meantion I'd save $350 from not having to upgrade.
