playing games online with Xbox

I have a modded Xbox and was curious is there other ways to play it online other than live? I know Gamespy tunnel will let you but it seems most ppl only play Halo on it. Is there another(maybe more popular) way?

And will this work on a modded Xbox?

xbconnect is the only other online play service besides XBL

You can play games like Halo etc (some games that are not supported by live can be played online) over gamespy tunnel/arcade
