i am new to the scene and my box is not even on live yet, i keep reading that new update allows game to be installed on hard drive, so disc does not need to present when you play on and off line or am i missing something?

reason i am asking is should i throw in 320gb 7200rpm hdd inside for faster load times and have all games on hdd

No you can not do that. You can only use the official drives. Or the hack of the official drive sizes.

You are still required to have to disc in the drive to check that you actually own the game but that is all that is necessary to play a game off hard drive. The disc won't spin up any more.

seriously. Why would MS let you not own the games anymore. That has to be the 3rd time this has been asked and I still can't believe people think this might be a possibility. Sorry Trance; not an attack on you but I just can't see the logic.

100% agree. This question is easy to search for and find. And there's no way a company would make it that easy to steal their games. How dumb are people getting?
