Playing Final Fantasy VII with Logitech Dual Action gamepad

Hi... has anyone else ever tried ? What happens is by default, it doesn't recognize the buttons on the gamepad, so you can't configure it. So, I used the profiler to assign keystrokes to every button. That works, but for movement, I can't use the diagonal of the POV. Does anyone know a way around this ?

FF7 was a bad port to a good game. I know it had a lot of video problems when I first tried the game, still does but there are some patches out there, you might check the EIDOS website or just search for a patch through your favorite search engine, maybe even e-mailing EIDOS tech support would help, sad to say this but this game just isn't new enough that many would go to trouble to patch it.
