i installed the Windows media player 11 beta a while ago and it caused the videos embedded on a webpage to stop playing in both Firefox and IE. the window comes up and i have the windows media player sitting there and it says "ready" but if i click the play button it does nothing at all, the video never loads or plays at all. i tried unistalling the WMP 11 beta and it does not unistall.

i followed the steps on microsofts website to get rid of it and after unistalling the 4 things they list and do the final restart, lauinching WMP bring up the player which is basically a combination of version 10 and 11...some of the graphics are from version 10 and some are from 11. so it not unistalling correctly and is trying to use both graphics and basically becomes unusable. if i try to intsall version 10 it tells me i ahve a newer version installed and i cannot continue with the install.

is there an unistaller for this or anything? or is there something else i can do to get rid of it and get my stuff working correctly agian. i thought of doing a system restore but it was over a month ago..more like 2 i think and i have made to many changes since then that i dont want to loose. anyone have any suggestons?
thanks

Format your hard drive and start over. And, get a drive imaging program such as Acronis TrueImage so that you can make a mirror image of your hard drive that you can use to get out of such messes.
