Hey, i've been trying to play old DOS classic games that i've downloaded on Kazaa cuz i haven't been able to find them in stores:

Dune 2
Lands of Lore 1
Colonization

and for some reason none of them work right. Lands of Lore is the only one I can almost get to work 100% completely, as it does play, however the sound is very very crappy, and moving around is a lot slower. Dune 2 and Colonization won't even boot properly, as I can setup the games, but when I click on the program to run the game it doesn't work.

Anybody know anything about DOS games that have problems in WinXP?

EDIT: Fixed thanks to bmacd :)

yes, i forgot since how to exactly on XP since i went back to win2k, but try right clicking on the file or shortcut and there might be an advanced option that allows you to select the emulation that you want it to run.

yes, got it to work actually, it seems to be a problem with my sound card (tb santa cruz)

I don't know what selection to put, because all they give me are really old sound cards (i.e. Sound Blaster Pro, other ones i do'nt remember)
