Playing BF3 With Trackpad?

Hello everyone, I will be building a pc and am looking to hook it up to a 32'' tv. I am thinking about getting a keyboard with a trackpad similar to this one

I will mostly be gaming with BF3 and maybe Skyrim/WOW. I haven't played many computer games but when I did I would use a mouse.

Would it make a big difference using a keyboard with a track pad? The reason is I currently have a 19" tv so I can sit at my desk and with the 32" tv I need more distance.

If you want to play FPS games on the couch, and you don't have a solid surface available, may I suggest a Logitech Trackman Marble? Been gaming with mine for years and it's awesome.

Trackpad would be absolutely terrible. A trackball would be better, but still not very good. If you really want to play from the couch I would recommend getting one of those cushioned laptop surfaces like this and get a mini keyboard and a real mouse.

With a track pad, you'll be more crippled than a console player with a controller.

I've never played an FPS with it, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Just use a mouse pad as you would on a normal desk. I have used mine once and a while to play GW2 on my big screen. Also if you want to take things a step further you could get a gameboard:

I think Razer even makes a mechanical version of those things now.

You could run a Soflam or perhaps camp an objective with C4
