Since I use to use BeOS back in the day, I decided to take a look at Haiku to see how far they have come. So I I installed the little OS on my Thinkpad T430 and it works and even the WiFi is functional. I install SMTube and watch a few YouTube videos. The sound has hisses in it, but that also works.

I'm going to play around with it for a few days to bring back memories of the few years that I used BeOS.

Any former BeOS users here?

I installed the 32-bit nightly build last night, but since I don't have any BeOS applications anyway I'm going to replace that with tonight's 64-bit nightly build.

I had to installed NetSurf to get a usable fast browser.

OK I installed the 64 bit version and that works fine on my notebook without issue. Now this little OS is in the Alpha stage and is somewhat usable as a Web Browsing machine. I'm just checking this out to see how far the Haiku guys have come, but however I'm not likely to stop using Linux to switch to this.
