has anyone read this book by kurt vonnegut? everyday it seems to me like it's coming true.

for the people who didn't read it it's about a time when all meaningless jobs are replaced by machines except for the engineers. there's a lot more but i won't go into it :p i was just thinking about this because i was noticing how they have machines to replace parking attendants and even paying for groceries now. what's next?

I don't know what's next, but I guess it's a down side to technology. People have been doing these jobs for a long time that aren't very difficult and can be done by machines now for much cheaper. I guess it's also a down side to capitolism? I guess the way I see it, one of two things can happen.

1. People that do these jobs will pursue other, more complicated jobs. (Those that can.)
2. There will be a lot of unemployed people in this world.

Then again, someone has to be specialized in fixing all these doo-hickies.

And that's my professional opinion. ;)
