Razer has outdone themselves, I'm seriously sitting here thinking about running down to Best Buy and picking one up. Same price there that they are on-line. I have always wanted to design a wireless mouse that has a charger that doubles as a cord, so you can still use it while you're charging it. It also comes with a charging base, which looks pretty nice. It's very accurate and quick. The size and weight are just about right. At $130 it's uhhh real expensive, but it's so sexy and nice to use. Knowing Razer it won't drop much in price for a long time. I really need a new mouse and this one's calling my name

must
resist!

Use the Mamba only if you like hard surfaces because the Mamba sure doesn't like soft ones (cloth). Mamba works best on the Razer Exactmat (aluminum) pad... Destructor (plastic) OK, Goliath (cloth) NOT OK. You will get jitter on soft surfaces.

Seems rather obvious. A soft cloth surface would provide more than one laser signal - i.e., the mouse moves and also the cloth moves. That would be true for most any laser mouse. Same for glass where refractive reflections cause jitter.

Not quite, I look for high DPI numbers. I game at 2560x1600 so I want my mice as responsive as possible. First thing in Windows, I lower the mouse sensitivity to the 2nd or 3rd notch.
Then I push as much DPI as possible. This makes the cursor move fast and smooth at the same time. Any mouse under 2000dpi will not do.

except the DA would still lack:
1. hybrid wireless operation
2. on board memory for storing profiles and configurations
3. hardware only DPI adjustment (the DA does support 3 settings, but this requires drivers to switch them, and 3 settings is a far car from the Mamba's ability to store 5 settings anywhere from 100 to 5600 in 100dpi increments)
4. two extra buttons (for 7 total). These buttons are default for switching the dpi, but they can be reprogrammed to anything else.
5. top of the line laser sensor that is actually supposed to trump the infrared LED sensor in the DA in every way

The DA has an MSRP of $59.99, there would be merit to having a wired only Mamba for $99.99 MSRP (same as the G9x) if it still retained the other features I listed.
