Played through Starcraft 2, what's next?

Played through the campaign on Brutal. It was fun, but not competitive enough to be playing on Bnet, especially since I would have to practice to learn all the hotkeys, build orders, maps and counters.

Anxiously waiting on the evolution of the storyline through Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the void, and even more anxiously awaiting Diablo 3 (after Diablo 3, I will no longer need another new game for several years, judging by Diablo 2).

So is there anything else good there? Looking for something story oriented.

Love:

Call of Duty games with solid storylines.
Good RPGs - Dragon Age need not apply

Or..
Should I be upping my golf game instead? :\

Why not learn to play it on BNet if you like the game? As far as I know, BNet has a skill-based player matching function, so after your first couple games you should get paired up with other noobies who don't use the keybinds, either. In those regards, it's a huge improvement over how people hook up in other online games.

I like to play borderlands somehow it's one of those games that's just right type of violence, fun, story for me, not to mention the 7 zillion guns. So I'll be getting back to it after I finish SC2 campaign. still about 80% through on normal, I doubt I will be playing this after campaign since I like my CoH better for online play. SC2 I will wait until they balance it better then jump in, that's maybe, just don't like SC2 old style rts type of play anymore.

If it takes you 2 weeks to get through a 12 year game, you are going to spend most of your time sitting and staring at the wall.
Make it last, man. Make it last.

If you want to go down the RTS route, Dawn of War 2 is ideal. Good story enhanced by one of the richest Sci-Fi universes out there with solid group-based RTS work and RPG elements added in. The multiplayer is quite well balanced and matchmaking is decent too meaning you'd be quite likely to be paired off against someone near your skill level. There is also a Co-op Campaign mode and The Last Stand, a co-op last man standing event vs waves of AI opponents.

I have recently started playing The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. Action is pretty fun and the enviroments are simply lovely maxed out... story feels a little on the light side but I am only into Chapter 2 so I expect it to start picking up.

Sadly my brain fails me to think of anything else to add to the list. I am reasonably unable to play FPS games and the RPG market is such a diverse segment now, filled with RTS/RPG hybrids, story-driven and Action RPG's etc. and a mixmash of those too.

Another vote for Dawn of War 2. I have only played a bit of it, but I really enjoyed it.

Also, you don't have to be super competitive to play on Battle.net. Who cares if you get crushed? You can lose and still have tons of fun. There are also custom games that are a blast to play. I recommend Red Circle TD (I believe that's the name) - I sucked at my first match, and it took me about 5 games to get "good," but I'm now consistently the top of the team. It's easy to learn and very enjoyable.

- Mass Effect 2
- Dawn of War 2 and Chaos Rising
- Fallout 3 (with at least Broken Steel DLC)
- Borderlands

If all you care about is going through a campaign once, I can't suggest any game. Go work on your golf swing.

Competitive RTS are too stressful and mentally straining for me, they were fun when I had summer vacations or whatever, but not worth the time investment nowadays.

Playing 2v2 or 3v3 with buddies is both less stressful and more fun. Try it.

Maybe go into business leveling MMO characters from 0 to max in as short amount of time as possible? :)

I just played through Splinter Cell Conviction. I know a lot of people hated the DRM, but I didn't find it that bad. Pretty cool game. I loved the way your character controls. Really makes you fee like a super spy.

Also, if you have played mass effect 1 & 2 you should give them a shot. I thought ME1 was decent when I played it then I played ME2 and it was worlds better. You really do yourself a favor pushing through some of the more annoying aspects of ME1 so you know the whole story going into ME2. The mass effect universe is now officially my new favorite sci fi franchise.

I'm also really looking forward to mafia 2 after playing the demo on steam.

They are stressful if you want to be an über l33t playa, if you ignore the rankings and ladders and focus on having fun you'll be ok.

The planet scanning in ME2 is absolutely raping my desire to continue playing the game.

Yeah online Starcraft completely killed my appreciation for the game. And SC2 is starting to be the same way. I always hit BUSY as soon as I log in. I'm just not sociable enough. Getting stomped by 12 year olds doesnt help either.

Just don't get too tedious with the scanning. Only go after big spikes, and when you don't find anymore after a little searching just leave. Don't waste time getting small spikes, and you get all the materials you need quite fast.

SC2 is less about skill and more about following the certain proven tactics that take to win.

I can't help it, if the planet isn't depleted I feel like I'm skipping content. Damn me.

Whatever it is. Some guy told me last night he was waiting for Terrans to be nerfed before playing 1vs1 ranked games because he didn't want to affect his record
I guess it's fun for some people to obsess about their record and stuff but I feel I'm happier than them just playing 2 or 3 matches every night, trying to correct yesterday's mistakes and having a good time, no big deal if I lose all 3.
