Played - Episode 44

In the latest episode of Played, we kick off with discussion of Nintendo?s ban on designer Shigeru Miyamoto discussing his personal hobbies, then launch straight into what we?re playing.

Xbox Live Arcade is a big theme, with Chris and Mark playing Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 (and making unsolicited comparisons to Everyday Shooter) and Chris taking on Braid. Liz has been into Soul Calibur IV, but less into its absurd achievements.

Finally, Mark has returned to Uncharted: Drake?s Fortune again, and he finally finished The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess almost two years after its release.

Fun episode, although elizabeth does sound a little rough towards the end there. Skype + the Internet = unpredictable sometimes

OOOOOOH, when you made a comment when I mentioned 2k Elizabeth in the Civ Rev thread, I didn't realize she was part of your podcast. :Q 😀

I"m not listening but why can't Miyamoto discuss his hobbies?

cliffs please.

probably because his hobbies are porno and masochist films... not a good image for nintendo.

They're worried it might provide insight into future plans.

Right - he liked gardening and so Pikmin was born. He liked shaking palm trees for coconuts so Animal Crossing was born. He liked masturbating so the Wiimote "waggle" controls were born.

Maybe he let it slip that his new hobby was playing invisible instruments - and thus - Wii Music was revealed.
