Playboy does NOT turn to hardcore porn.

Just to clear up some confusion from an earlier thread,


Playboy the magazine is not turning to hardcore porn.

Playboy the TV channel/Website is not turning to hardcore porn.

Playboy the company is buying the rights to three
cable channels that are known to show more adult material than Playboy does
in its regular properties.

There seem to be a lot of people jumping to the conclusion that this means
that Playboy will go hardcore in everything else they do. This is not the
case. You will not be seeing the Playmate of the year in the next
Debbie does Dallas movie, nor are you likely to see more graphical depictions
of sex or the female body than is the current standard for the magazine.
Playboy takes as much pride in the limits it sets for published photographs
as it does in keeping some of the best photographers on staff to take them.

Keep in mind that you do not see images of Mickey Mouse all over the TV, despite
the fact that Disney holds a large stake in ABC.

Once the articles started showing up it was clear what the real story was, but with the little info we were initially given it was rather difficult to tell the real story. I still stand by my opinion, though, it's too bad they've decided to include hardcore porn in their business strategy.

But thankfully the mag will stay the same.

Actually, the Playboy channel does show penetration and oral sex, usually at night (I don't have access and would not subscribe if I did, but I have heard if from a friend at work. FYI)

As I posted in the other thread according to the story Playboy already owns Spice Channel. On DirecTV there are 2 versions of Spice, regular and Hot Spice. Hot Spice is not soft core, it shows everything but the money shot and one other act best left unmentioned here. In short I do not see this as any radical departure for Playboy since they have already been in this business.
