Just ordered Playbook 32GB for $118 + tax

Any idea if this can be flashed to android... is it worth it?

Can it play 720p or 1080p video well?

My phone (HTC Sensation 1.2ghz dual core) lags in 720p video mkv file in mx player

I am not sure about video quality since all of my stuff is converted to mp4. Those do look good.

No andoid hacking since the bootloader is locked.

The Android Player is useful, but you will need to find apops converted for the player or convert them yourself. The player is fairly stable, but it can hang if you launch a lot of android apps without backing out of the running ones first.

It's a good device for videos, music, internet, and limited android apps. Certainly worth $120. The strength is the storage and its fast enough. hopefully when BB dies, they let us unlock the boot loader.

That's one expensive door stop you just bought... the $99 touchpad was a much better deal.

Its great for me to have as a simple method of browsing the web from my sofa or to play games.

I like using my phone too but battery life means I have to be tied down somewhere and then my phone is dead for when I need actually it.

The PlayBook is fantastic for basic tasks - the browser is good, the build quality is excellent, it plays video well, and even though it took them a year, the email system is solid. For those tasks, I still use it over my Kindle Fire.

With the new Kindle Fire being $159, is $118+tax really a great deal? Especially if you're going to have to jump through hoops to hack it to Android.

159 + tax 8gb kindle fire
118 + tax 32gb playbook

I'm not sure whats the better deal there, but the lower price point is attractive to me
