Wow, this file really kicked my @%&!!!
Normal playback is definitely problematic for me -_-
A 1920x1080i 29.97 file should be simple enough, but i guess it might have something to do with the AVCHD spec.
Media Player Classic HD choked (K-Lite Mega Pack)
VLC 0.9.9 choked
Nero Showtime actually worked! And since it's an interlaced file, it recognized it as interlaced and ran some kind of software deinterlacer on it... although it wasn't very good at all (looked like bob or frame duping), but the file was completely playable w/ perfect video/audio sync
The winner of it all? The Playstation 3!!
Simple playback via copied to PS3 hdd or played off USB stick.
However, the most amazing thing that came out of it, was that the PS3 knew exactly how to play back this file
Used whatever it does to make it playback w/o any hint of deinterlacing, looked like a progressive image
But what really fooled my mind was that, on playback, it felt like i was viewing a 60fps file - i have 30fps (29.97) and 60fps (59.94) content on there, and you could definitely tell the difference. But this AVCHD really made it seem like it was playing back @ 60fps... if I had gotten that HF100, i would have been strictly be recording @ 1280x720p @ 60fps, but not so sure, haha!
