Playable Crysis 2 MP Demo on XBOX 1/25/10 (NOW AVAILABLE)

Correct me if I'm wrong... But isn't most of the hype around Crysis it's visuals?

How good will this look and run on 360 compared to a modern gaming computer?

According to the devs, they have optimized the engine to make it look as good as possible on the 360, while also allowing for that Crysis visual experience on the PC. We'll see how that turns out. This is a new engine, so who knows how it will really look. This MP demo may or may not be close to a finished, polished product. Guess tomorrow is the day to find out.

Didn't they come out and say that the new Crytek engine was built with consoles in mind, knowing that they missed a large segment of the market with the original Crysis?

I'm really looking forward to checking this out. Between Crysis and Bulletstorm, I will be sucking up some bandwidth downloading demos tomorrow.

One of the results of this is that the game takes place in the nice geometric and easy to render concrete jungle of NYC instead a far more computational intensive real jungle.

That being said, I'm still looking forward to it, as the actual gameplay of the first crisis really didn't get the credit it deserves. Primarily the AI and freeform nature of the game. This is looking far more linear and scripted, so I'm not holding my breath.

Supposedly it will be freeform. They were saying have a objective and have to find the best way to get their. I think they've just highlighted optimized paths for different suit powers.

This actually looks pretty good. It might get me into playing my first modern style FPS game online since I stopped actively playing BF2 a few years ago.

Just played it for a bit. Gameplay is lame. Graphics aren't that great. The style looks good though, pretty colorful and not overly gray like other games.

Looks like garbage for a modern game, especially one with the Crysis title. Will wait for the PC version for my final verdict.

Something is not quite right about the gameplay for me. Maybe it doesn't match my style well or something but I just couldn't get it down.

Played it for quite a while, and while the multiplayer won't come anywhere close to dethroning the kings of the FPS world it's still a good time. I found myself actually playing it quite a bit different than I do in regular FPS games. I was sprinting a lot with cloak just meleeing folks and it worked well enough. Graphics are on par with what's expected these days, meaning it doesn't push the limits of the consoles. That could just be the multiplayer though, as several games have to tone down the graphics over multiplayer. I was really hoping for an SP demo.

I tried the 360 demo... well, I'll wait for the PC version of the game.

I have nothing against console FPS games, but something just doesn't feel right with Crysis 2 on the 360.
