play unreal tournament without inserting cd?

this might sound silly but anyway...i've been playing the free demo version of unreal tournament for a while and it got too easy...so i found someone selling the full version on the fs/st forums here. it arrived today and i installed it...all is well and good. well, i go to play it and it needs me to put in the cd every time i want to play :Q i'm sure there is a way to have everything it needs on the hard drive so it doesn't look for the cd, right?

update to the latest patch, this removes the cd check

i checked unrealtournament.com and it seems the latest patch is UTPatch436.exe is this what i'm looking for? sorry for the ignorance, i'm not too familiar with gaming...

yep 4.36 is the version I'm running, after you install it you won't need to insert cd anymore

when i try to install the patch and i get to the point where it wants to get some files off the cd, it says it found an unexpected version of botpac.u or something like that?

Did you get the "retail" version, or a special OEM version? If you goto Planet Unreal and into the "files" section, you will find different versions of 4.36 for different UT versions.
