For those of you near AC, the Hilton (Boardwalk at Boston Avenue) has a deal for 'first time slot players'. The offer expires May 31st.
Sign up for a VIP card (bring ID). If you lose between $100 and $1000, they will refund you 110% of your loss with 'cash certificates'. These are mailed to you 1 week after your visit. They are dated for each of the next 3 months, so you'd need to go back 3 times to recoup your loss (50% first month, 25% each of the next 2 months). Only you can redeem these cash certificates at the promotions booth. My first check must be redeemed between May 1 and May 31.
The promotions booth is open from 9am to 1am, 2am on weekends I think. 'First time' is determined when you have no activity on your VIP card for 24 hours. You need to keep the VIP card in the slot machine when you're losing, otherwise they won't know how much $$ you have lost.
Okay, so I dropped a grand last night there, and I'll be making visits in the next 3 months to get it back. But I won't need to gamble because it's beachtime anyway. Besides, how many of us can say that we've played 5 spins on a $100 slot machine? Your luck may vary. My neighbor went for the same deal, and he left being up $600.
I saw billboards on the way down for Harrah's and Tropicana for $100 free for signing up, but I didn't get to them for the details.
Good luck
