The device looks pretty fragile, like it's going to break after 2 or 3 uses. I think a better replacement to the game is Russian Roulette with hard boiled eggs. I did a quick youtube search, and it seems that's more popular than I thought - it's even been on Jimmy Fallon - I see Tom Cruise with egg smashed on him (and a huge smile) and David Beckham also with a huge grin and egg on his face.

I'd think the toy in the OP might appeal to little kids (and their parents) a lot more than hard boiled (and raw) eggs, but I think the eggs would appeal more to an older crowd.
