*** Play My Music From A Hard Drive To My Devices... ***

Hi,

I was wondering what would be the easiest way to set up something where I can put music and movies onto a hard drive and then play them with any device such as an Ipad or iPhone. For example, mediafire.com, I can upload music and then have the mediafire app on my iphone or ipad and it will play no problem as long as I have WiFi. Also to my receiver sound system since it can pick up wireless from devices.

I would keep doing it this way but my issues are :

1. Takes too long to upload things, especially since FIOS isn't here in my area when I can just put 500GB of media on a hard drive in a couple hours and call it a day.

2. Space / Storage. I have to pay per month to use a virtual drive like Mediafire's.


Is there anything I can do to have some kind of interface to use to be able to achieve this?

Apple AirPlay. Foobar Streaming etc. you can easily do this.

If his router has it, all he needs to do is plug it in and browse dlna. If not he'll need to install a streaming server.

I thought OP wanted to be able to stream via the internet when away from home, too.

That's what I thought till I noticed he mentioned uploading everything to mediafire and then being able to access anywhere that he had WiFi.
