play Doom on your ipod

I have noticed the progression of games on mobile devices, we have gone from simple games like Tetris to simple side scrolling Mario type games we have reached the Doom stage now, rudimentary 3d, next we move on to the Quake/Unreal 1 phase, in 5 years you should be able to play something akin to RTCW or Unreal Tournament on your Cellphone/PDA/MP3 player.

Next generation portable consoles are probably 3-4 years away. I have a feeling they will be close to on par with current PCs. I bet that technology will make its way into some phone not long after.
 
my imate Jam (rebadged by T-Mobile and called MDA Compact) has 416Mhz processor, 64Mb onboard plus SDIO slot.....all it needs is a simple 3d chip and it could run HL 🙂

albeit at a low res....lol

its the size of a largish smartphone (P910 i think isnt far off, altho mine is flatter and wider) but with a 2.9in screen that takes up most of the fascia.....its only downside is a 4-way scroll button, not 8 way :-(
