Does anyone have a 1080p Plasma TV on the Wall above their desk for gaming and then possibly a monitor under it on the desk for web browsing and driving your self crazy by trying to keep up with to cool stuff on Anandtech?

If this scenario is doable, is it doable with my GTX570 OC?

Thanks!

It is fairly easy you will need to connect your GTX 570 via HDMI to the TV above the desk set your monitors to extend display and then make sure there is proper scaling and other stuff with the TV and all should be well. With ATI cards anyway you can drag your monitors in their respective positions (drag it so the TV is above the regular LCD or however you want it to work). I have mine set so if i go to the right edge of my laptop is switches to the left edge of the tv.

One comment, if you haven't used a plasma for a monitor before, you *will* get some annoying image retention lines from browsers, icons, etc on the screen. Been using my LG 50" plasma like that on my HTPC for about 6 months now, lines fade back out but are noticeable during use if you move browsers around, switch from browsing to a movie, etc.

Not a killer but you should be aware of it.

Ive been using a Kuro plasma as a secondary monitor for gaming & movies for over 2 years without any issues (originally GTX 260, currently GTX 480, hooked up via HDMI).

It was easy to setup in Nvidia control panel, it detected the native resolution etc. on its own.

The only initial problem I ran into was when switching to the Plasma it would also take over as the main audio device which disabled sound going to my Onkyo receiver (X-fi soundcard with optical cable going to receiver, no hdmi inputs on receiver) but I fixed this by going into windows Control panel / Sound / Nvidia High Definition audio and choose Disable device which prevents audio from taking priority through HDMI.
