Hello

I heard that plasma screens are a pain when a person moves homes. and they have to be wrapped and moved in a special way.

is that true?

Not that I am aware of.

What I have heard is that Plasma looses up to 20% brightness every year. Thats up to 20% of existing brightness from your previous year.

I was told its really about 10% at most per year.

Then newer ones tend to have a 60,000 hour half life, which means they loose half their brightness in a little over 6.5 years if you run them constantly the whole time or a lot longer if you turn it off a reasonable amount of the time.

As for moving them, they don't really require any special handleing other than just a decent box like the ones they come in.

Burn in can happen; but the time it takes to burn in has been greatly increesed with newer plasmas. I left mine accedently displaying desktop all night once and that didn't cause even the slightest image retention, let alone burn in.
