plasma physics and "magnetic reconnection"

Hey all, I was reading this article the other day about solar flares, plasma physics, and this phenomenon called "magnetic reconnection," and it really got me interested in the subject. Unfortunately I have a background in materials science and chemistry, not plasma physics. That said, can anyone recommend some further reading on magnetic reconnection? I am not looking for stuff like wikipedia articles etc. Rather, I'm looking for something like a good textbook or the proceedings from a conference.

I've never heard of Magnetic reconnection. What is that exactly? I'm also interested in knowing.
 
I only have a basic understanding of it, so I'm not going to risk giving you misinformation from my own mouth. This site gives a decent overview of it.
