I'm a n00b with modern TVs so cut me some slack if this seems really stupid. I would like some honest advice.

Thoughts on the better deal considering they are the same price? $2299CDN

Well, I wouldn't want to spend much more than say $2500 CDN. I really don't watch as much as I used to, but it doesn't look like you get much for less than $2K. I could maybe juice up the budget a bit if the deal was friggen fantastic and an incredible buy though.

Now way in hell Plasma's are good enough to warrant choosign it with SD/ED Tv over an HD alternative.

DLP wins in this case.

If you were comapring an HD (720p) Plasma, then the choice would not be so easy, although the Plasma would have the early lead😀

So far, the DLP is looking pretty good. I like how you don't seem to have to worry about burn in like the older projections.

Between those two, the Samsung is the better set. The HLN is 1 generation old though, and soon to be 2 generations.

/thread.

Seriously. The #1 selling wide/flat screen set around. It's the commercial version so you can't get it at Best Buy, etc.

Yes, it's 480p, but it's a gorgeous 480p that looks better than most HD sets.

And the last time I checked, DVD is still 480p. Pixel for pixel perfection for watching DVDs.

The only TV I'd recommend ahead of it is Panasonic's HD version of this set, if you have another $2500 to waste. Panasonic Plasma > all others.
