Been working on starting plants for my garden over the past month. I started the tomatoes a while ago since they take longer.. but I started some squash and cucumbers I think last Sunday. 10-14 days to germinate... um, had sprouts the next morning! Talk about eager plants!

This morning I watered the cukes, went out for a couple hours to do shopping for my garden, came back and I swear they grew a couple inches while I was out. Amazing little things... it's like you can actually watch them grow.

My Zucchini have gone nuts this week. I swear they went from a 6" spread to 18".

My cucumbers sadly did not survive a cold streak we had after the last frost date. :|

My garden has sucked this year. I'm still learning how to work with Georgian soil and climate. I foolishly went in thinking I could manage it like I have elsewhere.

I have jasmine, azalea and climbing roses that are doing well. I also have beans, tomato, and snake gourd that are also doing well. Just about everything else has completely foundered.

I need to do some thorough soil testing I think. My house sits in an area that was literally forest just a few years ago, so couple that with a lot of pines, etc. and I'm sure it's a highly acidic soil. It's also heavily clay, and my experience runs short with this soil.

Enjoy!
