I love homegrown Tomatoes.
I plan on planting some grape tomatoes but, other than that I not quite sure on what regular size tomatoes I will be planting.
Are their any types in particular that you prefer or have had sucess with?
I will be putting some of the plants in a partially shaded area and others in a fully sunny area.

Also, are there any other vegatables that are easy to grow that don't take up much space that you really like homegrown?

thanks
Bruce

Kind of late in the season, but next year try raising some from seed. Ridiculously easy. I have some Roma types from Italy(literally). Great for cooking, and also am trying Super Marmande, a French beefsteak variety reported to be very good. Yeah, it's French :p

For this year, you can find domestic romas, and any of the beefsteak you can find are pretty good. I do suggest looking for indeterminate types which will produce fruit through the season, as opposed to determinate which will make everything at once and that's it. It says on the tag which type they are. Walmarts and Home Depots are cheap, but finding someone who knows anything is pretty slim odds. Spend the extra 50 cents and go to a local greenhouse. They are more likely to have varieties that do best in your area anyway.

THE place to ask gardening questions:
GardenWeb

Tomatoes LOVE sun, especially the high noon sun. Make sure they get lots. I dont know if they are considered "grape" tomatoes, but you should try sweet 100's or super sweet 100,000,000's(something like that). I planted two of them and had more cherry tomatoes then i knew what to do with.

I had less luck with regular size tomatoes, they are a bit harder to grow apperently.
Tomatoes can also get LOTS and LOTS of diseases/bugs, so keep a close eye on them.
