planning to sell books and stuff at ebay and half.com

so I am going to start selling my old stuff at ebay and half.com. I have never done this before, but I was wondering how you would determine the shipping of an item? Let's say I want to sell a textbook. how do I determine how much to charge the buyer for shipping?

what about random stuff like computer case, or computer monitor, etc etc etc?

Charge how much it would cost to ship it. If you want to send it USPS book rate it'll be relatively cheap, but you could probably send it for USPS priority for $5-7.

Textbooks = $3 or so via usps media mail (read: slow shipping but cheap and pretty much standard)

You can also calculate postage here: http://usps.com/tools/calculatepostage/welcome.htm?from=global&page=0061calculatepostage
Fedex: http://fedex.com/ratefinder/home?cc=US&language=en
Airborne: http://sbw.airborne.com/CompareRate/CompareRateInfo.asp
UPS: http://wwwapps.ups.com/QCCWebApp/request?loc=en_US

They do estimates but they are not always correct but they will give you a ball park figure.

I"m trying to get rid of my old textbooks.............all I know is half.com. do you guys know any popular places??
